I believe when I was researching this yarn I was looking at some of the 1930's Columbia knitting books I got from Iva Rose. You might want to check a few of those out. They were very lacy pullovers.

Hello Rhiannon,

Congratulations on your expected arrival!

I agree with Julie Ann, wool is a wonderful choice for babies. Often when people speak of allergies to wool what they are referring to is really just a sensitivity of the skin. If you use a fine, good quality wool this is minimised. You could also use cotton undergarments on the baby and keep wool for outer garments.
Cashmere, being goat should not have the same difficulties, as you said. Also look at Alpaca, whic is very like cashmere in terms of softness and fineness of gauge.

Best wishes for your babys birth

Nancy,

I used a very very simple one! I started trying to seam meticulously like you usually do with knitting for the body but it took so long to include the lining as well. I ended up just basically basting with small stitches using a thicker crochet cotton thread while the pieces were inside out. It still came out looking very tidy, though the lighter the color wool the more you might notice some wonkiness.

I love him
I personally would love to know more about the seaming technique you used.

Thanks! His paws were a funny construction that I couldn't figure out how to sew up at first but it was just simple sewing the piece in half with more fabric being on the bottom to help them curve.

Just call me Grace Kelly:

9 balls of Cascade Cloud 9 in 121 (a nice vintage rose). I scored the 50/50 Angora & Merino mix at $2 each. Now, all I need is a convertible Jaguar, a handsome ex jewel thief, and an winding road (on the coast of France). Ha-cha-da-cha-cha!

I'll send pics in about 2 years. It'll take that long with the size 0s, but this is a must-do.

First time reader but perused your site and am excited for more updates. Very excited for your bebe as i just recently had mine 4 months ago. Didn't knit too many blankets (my mom wanted that job) but did a lot of hats. There's just something about knitting tiny things! Beautiful blanket!
